Welcome!

eatlocal2Welcome to the registration site for our Eat Local Eden Prairie Fair!

The purpose of the fair is to open up the community to information and resources regarding the possibility of eating locally raised and grown food.

The Fair will be held on Sunday, April 18, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eden Prairie Community Center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, 16700 Valley View Road. The Eden Prairie community will be invited to attend. Admission will be free.

If you are a part of the local food economy, consider having a table at the Fair. We are looking for farmers, ranchers, growers, restaurants, organizations, stores and products made from local ingredients. After you apply, if we have any questions about whether your business is a “fit” we will let you know!

Note that the fair is free for “table participants” as well! Please click on the “Register” link above and fill out our brief form. We’ll review it to ensure that your organization is appropriate for the Fair, and we’ll contact you with more details.

Please note that if you are offering food samples, you will be required to have an Itinerant Food License; we will be coordinating the effort to get this directly for you. So if you choose to offer tastes, we will be in touch with you directly about the permit.

The Fair is being organized by the Eden Prairie Reads committee, a non-profit group in Eden Prairie focused on connecting the community through reading and dialogue. Our 2010 selection is Barbara Kingsolver’s book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, which inspired this event. Read more about Kingsolver’s book and Eden Prairie Reads using the links above.

Questions? Email Jody at info@epreads.org.

We hope you will join us by having a table at the Fair. We will be providing tables and chairs for you. You only need to be there with your information, products, and/or materials. This is a great opportunity to educate the community on the value of eating local.

We hope to see you there.

Thank you!
